Jes Benstock

Born in Glasgow, Jes became an actor (aged 12) before going on to form a successful and award winning Edinburgh based comedy theatre company, the Merry Mac Fun Co.

He turned his hand to directing projects such as "THE BOX"- a short film starring Tilda Swinton. He has directed award winning shorts, docs, pop videos and animated visuals for live shows for numerous pop events-and experimented with interactive digital art. His short films include "ORDERS OF LOVE", "THE HOLOCAUST TOURIST", the documentary short, "THE MAN WITH THE EXTENDED MIND" and a contribution to "TAGGER" at the 50th London Film Festival event curated by Mike Figgis.

Jes' Microwave film, "THE BRITISH GUIDE TO SHOWING OFF" about Andrew Logan-the creator of the Alternative Miss World contest, has recently been released by Verve to excellent reviews. Jes is currently lead writer on a feature about the life of Glasgow comedian Arnold Brown, through Synchronicity Films.
